My very first original painting was created during the Northwest Coast Jewellery Arts Program and I chose to complete my assignment using a mixed medium. My inspiration came from the movie '300', a young boy's right of passage. I was so drawn to the darkness this wolf embodied and felt it was going to be the focal point of my piece. The wolf was to be painted with two tones, a gun metal grey and black. I chose to use a complimentary graphite technique of shading to round out the finishing touches.
